8-Week Workshops in Poetry and Short Fiction Intensive, yet comfortable and intimate, group sessions, offering focused discussion of writing issues, exercises, directed readings, and organized, fair critiques. Limited to 6 writers. Flexible Monthly Novel Workshops Focused Workshops for those working on longer projects, who can benefit from longer spans of time between group meetings, less weekly reading, and critique on more of their own pages. Limited to 3 writers with each writer having a full hours critique up to 30 pages a session. Writers may sign up for 1 or up to 3 consecutive sessions. Weekly Open Writing Sessions In these weekly sessions, writers are afforded the rare opportunity (in New York anyway) of 1 hours uninterrupted writing (in two 1/2 hour blocks). Each block is book-ended with brief discussion of some aspect of writing or the writing process and some selected readings from poetry or prose. Occasional Fundamentals Seminars From time-to-time, in response to student request or suggestions, WritersWriting hosts a Sunday tea, during which we discuss in-depth a particular aspect of writing poetry or prose. Instructors will provide examples from published and unpublished work and encourage writers to bring their own writing for discussion. Individual Coaching WritersWriting offers individual coaching for those writers unable or uninterested in workshops, those with a particular project that doesnt lend itself to group critique, or those who want the focused attention individual coaching affords. Manuscript Consultation and Editing WritersWritings instructors are highly trained in manuscript consultation and editing, from heavy significant editing, ghostwriting, and co-writing to light editing and suggestions. Past clients include novelists, poets, screenwriters, academics, and memoirists. |
